Bloomberg Square Mile - RTS delivers a perfectly timed race
In 2011 the Bloomberg Square Mile Relay race had been running for 5 years. Never before was it successfully timed, many timing companies had tried until Race Timing Sytems stepped up.
Using our outstanding Evo 860 UHF timing units we not only delivered a perfectly timed race but we displayed live results on a massive TV screen with elapsed times down to the nearest hundreth. We provided results printing that gave the athetes instant access to their individual lap times. We also gave them hard copies of their entire teams results.
To say this race was perfect is absolutely true. From start to finish the electronic data recorded was flawless. Amazing considering there were 115 teams of 10 runners and not just your average runners either. The athlete's themselves are all bankers. Even compared to the world of professional athlete's these guys are considered highly competitive. Chaotic isn't a word that's goes far enough to describe the manic nature of this event. It's absolutely frantic.
For more information about how Race Timing Systems can bring perfect timing to your high profile event please call 01908 990 261 or contact us using the Contact form on this website.

Deep Water Finish Now Available
 |
Today saw the first deployment of our new deep water finish line solution for timing open water swimming at the Human Race Windsor Open Water Swim. Our innovative solution is an entirely new approach to the problem of capturing athlete information in a deep water finish situation:
- Athletes wear a paper thin disposable chip on their heads, stuck to the swim cap.
- To 'cross' the line the athlete simply swims through the finish line gantry.
- No need to touch anything
- No need to carry an awkward wrist mounted chip.
- No need to recover chips at the finish line
- Water check in gateway

With all of the result of research and development carried out at our new offices in Milton Keynes Race Timing Systems remains the only UK based timing company actively producing innovative timing solutions.
