400m Swim
The 400m Concorde swimming is held in the award winning Bradfield college sport complex. The swim comprises 16 lengths of the pool. There will be marshals on pool side counting competitors lengths.
Competitors exit the pool then there is a lung busting 200m run, partly uphill, to the bike transition. The path is covered in plastic matting so there is no need for shoes. The transition is conveniently located in a grass field.
Transition 1
There will be a number of vendors on the edge of the transition field for anyone forgetting that important piece of equipment or for anyone that likes to reward themselves with a finishing line bacon sandwich / fruit smoothie.
Helmets must be buckled up before competitors can touch there bikes. Relay teams will tag inside the transition.
20km Cycle
The 20km bike leg comprises an out and back route from Bradfield to Thatcham and back. The route is along a quiet and scenic road but it will be open to normal road traffic so competitors must obey the highway code.
The cross roads a the start & finish in Bradfield need particular caution. On the return leg competitors must turn left and will need to break early as it is a sharp downhill corner. Competitors must also use caution at the war memorial approximately 1 mile into the course where they need to give way to traffic.
Transition 2
Competitors return to the same transition. Bike must be racked before helmets are removed. Relay teams will tag inside transition.
5km Run
The 5km run comprises a one lap routes over varied terrain include footpaths and road. There is a road to cross which requires caution so please listen out to instructions from the marshals. The run finish is back in the grounds of Bradfield college

Bradfield college offers the best of both worlds as a triathlon venue. It is located close to the M4 and Reading for easy access for competitors but the triathlon is held on quiet country roads with scenic Berkshire countryside.
